Hair Loss Post Kidney Transplant - Adoport Tacrolimus
Hi Everyone!
Hope you are all keeping well 😊
I apologise for being a little absent on my publishing schedule but sometimes you have to live life to be able to write something about it!
Today's post is all about my ongoing hair loss journey after my kidney transplant surgery back in October 2023, after being waitlisted for three years on Home Peritoneal Dialysis!
For those following me on my other platforms like my YouTube Channel: My Kidney and Lai may have seen the following video where I show you my then current hair loss at 7 months post transplant in May 2024!
I'm hoping to film an update to this journey IMMINENTLY and get that up on the channel very soon!
As a teaser, I will be sharing some of the hair styles, supplements and general attitude I've been having towards my hair loss the past two months. I think you can probably imagine that I took a very positive and affirmative action on it as is always my character in these situations where it is completely out of my control!
as is so much of my life, even more so perhaps post-transplant!
I always try to remain as grateful and grounded as I can these days, I will admit it is a lot easier now than it was on dialysis but I genuinely feel like the days, months, years I spent on dialysis will always make the transplanted life that I live today that much sweeter, earnest and held with so much gratitude.
Even when facing great anxieties of returning to work, prospects of studying for professional exams and even going in front of a camera to film... I feel a new sense of confidence and vigour for life to take on new challenges without fear.
well crippling fear...
People like us who have gone through life altering events such as kidney failure, dialysis and even surgery like kidney transplant, can easily take so much for granted when walking that uphill climb but I think it's so important to remind you & myself that we have developed so much resilience in our mental fortitude, and truly understanding the significant of where and how we spend our seconds, hours and days.
Please be patient as I slowly work myself back into the blogging, vlogging, YouTube videos...
You can always find me on my socials, where at the moment... I am posting more daily on my on my Instagram!
Wishing you all the best health this summer 2024!
Lai
